Understanding how your content is shared on Instagram can provide valuable insights into your audience's engagement and help refine your content strategy. While Instagram doesn't offer a direct method to see exactly who has shared your posts, there are several approaches to gauge the reach and impact of your content.

Do You Want to See Who Shared Your Instagram Posts?

You're not alone! If you have an Instagram business or creator account, there may be a way to see who reshared your post or reel publicly within 24 hours of publishing your photo or video. While the View Story Shares feature isn't available to personal accounts (or even all professional accounts), many users can see who shared their posts and reels to stories by checking their Insights.

Even if you can't see who shared your content, you can definitely see the share count. We'll show you how to view Instagram sharing insights on your Android, iPhone, and iPad. Unfortunately, if you have a personal account, you won't get to see these insights unless you upgrade to a professional account.

How to See Who Shared Your Instagram Post

1. Utilize Instagram Insights (For Business & Creator Accounts)

If you have a Business or Creator account, you can access Instagram Insights to see how many times your post has been shared.

Steps to Check Insights:

  1. Open Instagram and go to your profile.

  2. Select the post you want to check.

  3. Tap View Insights below the post.

  4. Find the share count under the paper airplane icon. You'll see this icon in the row near the top of the "Post insights" window. This count includes every time someone shared your post with someone else, whether on their story or with a friend in a private message.

Social media stats: 64 likes, 0 comments, 6 shares, 10 saves. Overview shows accounts reached: 1,063, engaged: 69. Date: May 11, 7:13 PM.

While this doesn’t show exactly who shared your post, it gives you an idea of how engaging your content is.

3. Use the “Reshares” Feature (For Business & Creator Accounts)

Instagram allows Business and Creator accounts to see recent story reshares of their posts.

Steps to See Reshares:

  1. Open Instagram and go to your profile.

  2. Tap on the post.

  3. Tap the three dots in the top right corner.

  4. Select View Story Reshares (this option only appears if your post has been reshared in someone’s Story).

If no reshares are listed, it means your post hasn’t been shared recently or the reshared stories have already expired.
