LOCAL VISIBILITY

What does this Google Maps rank checker show?

See how your business appears across the area you serve, not just from one location. The checker shows where you rank, where visibility drops and which competitors are showing above you.

Your ranking across the area

See whether your business appears in the top 3, top 10, top 20 or not at all from each location checked.

Where competitors beat you

See which local businesses appear above you most often and how their review counts compare with yours.

Where your visibility drops

A business can rank well near its location but disappear only a few kilometres away. The grid makes those weak areas obvious.

HOW LOCAL RANKINGS WORK

Why does your Google Maps ranking change by location?

Google uses proximity as one of the signals when deciding which local businesses to show. That means there is no single Google Maps ranking for an entire city.

You might rank #2 when someone searches close to your business, #8 a few kilometres away, and disappear from the top results farther across your service area.

A local ranking grid checks the same keyword from multiple geographic points so you can see the shape of your real visibility instead of relying on one ranking number.

IMPROVING YOUR RANKINGS

What should you do if your visibility is weak?

A weak area on the map does not automatically point to one problem. Your Google Business Profile, reviews, website content and local authority can all affect how consistently you appear across your service area.

Check your Google Business Profile categories

Your primary category strongly influences which searches Google considers your business relevant for.

Compare your reviews

Look at the businesses appearing above you. Review quantity isn't everything, but a significant gap is worth addressing.

Strengthen the relevant service pages

Your website should clearly support the services you're trying to rank for and the areas where you actually operate.

Improve your local authority

Consistent business information, local mentions, relevant links and a well-developed Google Business Profile can strengthen local visibility over time.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Google Maps Rank Checker FAQs

Is this Google Maps rank checker free?

Yes. You can run a local visibility check without creating an account or providing an email address.

Why does my Google Maps ranking change across the map?

Google local results depend partly on where the person searching is located, so rankings can change significantly over relatively short distances.

What does each number on the map mean?

Each number shows your organic Google Maps position from that location for the keyword you selected. Paid Google listings are excluded.

Why should I leave the city out of the keyword?

The checker already runs each search from an exact geographic location. Adding the city to the search changes the query and can produce a different type of result.

How accurate is a local ranking grid?

It provides a location-specific snapshot of Google Maps results at the time of the scan. Rankings can change over time and can differ slightly because of personalization and other search factors.
