Step 2: Create an Email If You're New to Triggered Emails If this is your first time creating a Triggered Email, click 'Get Started'. For Everyone Click + Create New to open the Triggered Email Editor. Alternatively, if you want to duplicate an existing Triggered Email, click the 'Show More' icon and then click 'Duplicate'. Design Your Email: Edit the provided content by clicking on an element to customize or delete it. Click the Add icon on the left side to include additional elements. Click the Background icon on the left side to customize the background. Step 3: Use Variables for Personalization Click on a text element and then click + Add Variable. Variable Name: Choose a meaningful name for the variable. Fallback Value: Enter a replacement text that will appear if the specific piece of data is missing. Note that fallback values can be applied in the body of an email but not in the subject line. Click Add. Step 4: Get Your Triggered Email's Code Snippet Click Save & Publish on the top left. If prompted, click Add Details to specify how your name appears and the reply-to address. Click Save. You may be asked to confirm your email address. If so, enter the confirmation code from the email in your inbox and click Confirm. Choose the recipients: Email New Contacts for new sign-ups. Email Site Members for existing members. Click Copy to copy the code snippet that appears in the text window. Click Got It to close the window. Implementing the Code Snippet After copying the code snippet, you can implement it in your site's backend to trigger the email based on specific events, such as user sign-up or purchase confirmation. Step 5: Implementing the Trigger with a Code Example Now that you have your Triggered Email set up and the code snippet copied, it's time to implement the trigger that will send the email. For this example, let's assume you want to send a welcome email to a new user upon sign-up. Backend Code First, create a new backend file, for example, backend/welcomeEmail.jsw, and paste the following code: import { sendTriggeredEmail } from 'wix-users-backend'; export function sendWelcomeEmail(userId, userEmail, userName) { const emailId = "your_email_id_here"; // Replace with the email ID you copied sendTriggeredEmail({ emailId: emailId, to: userEmail, variables: { name: userName } }); } In this code, we import the 'sendTriggeredEmail' function from wix-users-backend. The function 'sendWelcomeEmail' takes the user's ID, email, and name as parameters and sends a triggered email using the email ID you copied earlier. Frontend Code Next, open your site's frontend code and add the following: import { wixUsers } from 'wix-users'; import { sendWelcomeEmail } from 'backend/welcomeEmail'; $w.onReady(function () { wixUsers.onLogin((user) => { user.getEmail() .then((email) => { sendWelcomeEmail(user.id, email, user.displayName); }); }); }); Here, we import wixUsers to listen for the onLogin event. When a user logs in, we get their email and display name and then call the sendWelcomeEmail function from our backend. Putting It All Together Replace 'your_email_id_here' in the backend code with the email ID you copied from the Triggered Email dashboard. Save both the backend and frontend files. Publish your site to apply the changes. Now, whenever a new user signs up and logs in, they will receive a personalized welcome email. Conclusion By following these five steps, you can set up and implement triggered emails in your Wix website using Wix Velo. This feature not only enhances user engagement but also automates a significant part of your email marketing efforts.
- The Importance of Google Ads for Boosting Revenue and Sales: A Guide for Small Businesses
In today's digital age, businesses of all sizes are leveraging online platforms to reach their target audience and drive growth. One of the most effective tools in this arsenal is Google Ads, a pay-per-click (PPC) advertising platform that allows businesses to display their ads prominently in Google search results and across a vast network of partner websites. Google Ads has proven to be an invaluable asset for generating revenue and boosting sales for businesses, especially for small businesses and digital agencies looking to maximize their online presence. In this article, we will delve into the reasons why Google Ads are crucial for business success, with a particular focus on small businesses and digital agencies. Unlocking a Vast Online Audience Google is undoubtedly the most widely used search engine globally, with billions of searches conducted daily. This massive user base presents an immense opportunity for businesses to connect with potential customers actively searching for products or services they offer. When a user enters a relevant keyword in the search bar, Google Ads allows businesses to display their ads at the top of the search results, ensuring high visibility. This visibility gives businesses an edge by increasing their chances of capturing the attention of users looking for exactly what they provide. For small businesses and digital agencies, this is particularly significant. Small businesses often operate with limited marketing budgets and need to make every dollar count. Google Ads' targeted approach ensures that their ads are shown to users with a high likelihood of being interested in their offerings. Digital agencies, on the other hand, can showcase their expertise by running successful Google Ads campaigns for clients, thereby attracting more clients and establishing themselves as authorities in the digital marketing space. Maximizing ROI through Precise Targeting One of the standout features of Google Ads is its advanced targeting options. Businesses can tailor their ads based on factors such as location, language, device, and even the time of day. This precision targeting ensures that ads reach the right audience at the right time, increasing the likelihood of conversions. For instance, a small bakery can target users in its vicinity searching for "freshly baked bread," leading to higher foot traffic and sales. Digital agencies can leverage this feature to drive remarkable results for their clients. By understanding their client's target audience and crafting highly targeted ads, digital agencies can demonstrate their ability to deliver tangible results. This not only helps in retaining existing clients but also attracts new ones through word-of-mouth referrals and case studies showcasing their success. Flexibility to Suit Any Budget Google Ads is designed to be scalable and adaptable to various budgets. This is particularly advantageous for small businesses that might not have substantial marketing funds to spare. The platform offers multiple bidding strategies, such as cost-per-click (CPC), cost-per-thousand-impressions (CPM), and cost-per-acquisition (CPA), allowing businesses to choose the model that aligns with their budget and objectives. Moreover, Google Ads provides control over daily spending limits, ensuring that businesses never exceed their allocated budget. This flexibility empowers small businesses to dip their toes into online advertising without the fear of overspending. For digital agencies working with a diverse clientele, this flexibility enables them to customize strategies that cater to the unique financial circumstances of each client, showcasing their ability to deliver results within varying budget constraints. Real-time Measurable Results One of the most compelling reasons for businesses, including small enterprises and digital agencies, to opt for Google Ads is the ability to track and measure results in real time. The platform offers comprehensive analytics that provide insights into ad performance, click-through rates (CTR), conversion rates, and more. This data allows businesses to assess the effectiveness of their campaigns and make informed decisions to optimize their strategies for better results. For small businesses, this data-driven approach is invaluable. It enables them to allocate their resources to campaigns that are generating the most revenue and fine-tune underperforming ones. Digital agencies can leverage these metrics to showcase their impact. Transparent reporting and data-backed insights enhance their credibility and make it easier to demonstrate the value they bring to their clients. Level Playing Field for Small Businesses Traditionally, advertising on platforms like television or in print media favored larger businesses with substantial budgets. However, Google Ads levels the playing field, enabling even the smallest of businesses to compete with industry giants. The pay-per-click model ensures that businesses only pay when users interact with their ads, whether it's through clicks, impressions, or conversions. This means that a small local bookstore can appear in the same search results as a major chain, provided their ad is relevant and compelling. This democratization of advertising benefits small businesses immensely. It allows them to reach their target audience without requiring a massive marketing budget. Similarly, digital agencies specializing in assisting small businesses can position themselves as champions of the underdog, helping their clients achieve a strong online presence on par with bigger competitors. Adapting to Evolving Consumer Behavior Consumer behavior has undergone a significant transformation in recent years, with more people turning to online platforms for their purchasing decisions. This shift has been accelerated by the global pandemic, which has further highlighted the importance of digital presence. Google Ads provides a way for businesses to adapt to this changing landscape swiftly. For small businesses, this adaptability is essential for survival. Those that fail to establish an online presence risk becoming obsolete. Google Ads allows them to quickly pivot their strategies to align with changing consumer preferences and capture opportunities that arise in the digital realm. Digital agencies play a vital role in guiding businesses through this transition, demonstrating their expertise in navigating the dynamic digital landscape. Harnessing the Power of Remarketing Remarketing is a potent strategy offered by Google Ads that involves targeting users who have previously interacted with a business's website or ads. This technique helps in re-engaging potential customers who might not have converted during their initial visit. By displaying relevant ads to these users as they browse other websites or platforms within the Google Display Network, businesses can stay top-of-mind and encourage them to complete their purchase. For small businesses, this is a game-changer. Many consumers conduct thorough research before making a purchase decision. Remarketing ensures that a business remains in the consideration set of potential customers, ultimately increasing the likelihood of conversion. Digital agencies can employ this strategy to showcase their innovation and creativity, delivering exceptional results for their clients. Conclusion In a digital landscape where competition is fierce and consumer behavior is ever-evolving, Google Ads emerges as a powerful tool for businesses aiming to boost their revenue and sales. For small businesses operating on limited budgets and digital agencies striving to make a mark, Google Ads offers an unparalleled opportunity to connect with their target audience, maximize ROI, and demonstrate their prowess in the digital realm. By harnessing the vast online audience, utilizing precise targeting, adapting to varying budgets, measuring results in real time, and embracing strategies like remarketing, businesses can unlock the full potential of Google Ads. This platform not only levels the playing field but also empowers businesses to stand out in a cluttered digital landscape. As the digital landscape continues to evolve, the importance of Google Ads will likely only grow. For businesses seeking sustainable growth, small or large, and for digital agencies aiming to leave a mark, Google Ads remains an indispensable tool on the journey to success. Embracing this platform today can pave the way for a more prosperous and thriving tomorrow.
- Finding Success with Google Ads
Many advertising platforms have similarities, and it can be difficult to differentiate between them when deciding which one to use. When advertising for your business, one of the most important items to remember would be to ensure that you are advertising to the correct audience with the right type of ad. The more refined your ad and ad group, the more successful the campaign is going to be. An impactful advertising platform would be Google Ads. Google Ads is the largest PPC advertising platform in the world and operating on the most expansive search engine, meaning that your ads are being displayed to a massive pool of people. Advertising on a search engine with a high number of people offers a great deal of opportunity. Google Ads run paid searches and use pay-per-click advertising (PPC), displaying ads based on the auction-bidding process. This means that continuous optimization of ads is necessary to allow for optimal performance results. The ability to control your ad based off of how it is performing can offer many benefits, including boosting traffic and brand awareness, and driving sales. In order to create an effective ad and find success with Google Ads, there are several tasks that can be done to set yourself up for achievement: Differentiate between ad types When creating an ad, there is the option to choose between search campaigns and display campaigns. Search campaigns are the ads that appear in the search results of search queries. The ads in search campaigns leave an impression and are displayed based off the keywords included in the search query. There are many types of search ads which should be used correctly for progressive results. Search campaign ad types include remarketing, social media ads, SERPs, and traditional search engine ads with text. Search campaigns are effective as users want to be able to find the answer or solution that they are looking for following a search query; it doesn’t get easier than having an answer posted right in front of you. Display ads are the visual ads that are displayed on various websites that users visit. These ads appear on the top, bottom, or the side of web pages. Display ads are attention grabbing and can be very effective in generating traffic due to commonalities between the user’s interests, the website that they are visiting, and what you have to offer. Know your audience It is important to highlight your target audience for your ad to ensure maximum ad performance. When specifying who you want to see your ad, you have the option to target people based off of demographic information and interests. It is beneficial to be able to differentiate your audience based on interests as it will be helpful in displaying your ad to those to whom the ad is relevant. Google offers many different types of audiences, including custom audiences, affinity audiences, remarketing, customer match, and similar audiences. It would be in your best interest to narrow down your target audience for successful ad results. Keywords Google’s paid search advertising heavily focuses on text ads and keywords, and how they are utilized in the ad itself. This is simply because your ad will appear based off of relevancy to your offerings. The headlines and descriptions of your ads are given a score that is based off of the keywords that were used, and how creative you were. It is crucial to creatively implement as many keywords as manageable to ensure that your ad will be as impressionable as possible. There are different types of keywords on Google Ads, and it is important to make sure that they are all used correctly to capitalize on the success that they can bring your ad. The keyword types include exact match, broad match, modified broad match, phrase match, and negative match. The more specific the match type is, the more the relevance will increase with the reach decreasing, whereas the less specific the match type is, the more the relevance will increase due to advertising to a less specific network. Correctly implementing relevant keywords can contribute to determining the overall success of the ad. Due to Google Ads being the largest advertising platform, there is no doubt that it can bring you success. Prior to advertising on Google Ads, it is important to acquire an understanding of your target audience, the most effective ad type for you, and it is especially important to capitalize on implementing highly relevant and popular keywords to further the potential of successful conversions from the ads. With Google Ads, you are in control of determining who sees your ad, thus you have the ability to advertise as specifically as possible. The more relevant and specific your advertising approach is, the more likely it is that your business will reap favourable results from optimal ad performance while keeping the above points in mind. - What's New in Social Media? Updated January 2023
The importance of Social Media Marketing is greater than ever with so much competition pouring in each day. This is why we, at CodeMasters Inc, wanted to highlight the new and trendy updates across social media platforms so you can have a successful start to the new year! Write a Note to your close friends… on Instagram Instagram added a “notes” feature, allowing users to share a 60-character message with their ‘close friends’ list Twitter is a new Space Twitter relaunched the Twitter Blue Program, which is a paid subscription, allowing users to edit tweets and get an ‘official’ checkmark next to their username setting them higher in the algorithms. (Credit: Content Stadium) Twitter also added the ‘view count’ feature which enables users to see how many people a tweet has reached. Do Facebook Marketing right! Facebook marketing is shifting its platform to prioritize video more and more. The 9:16 format and reels should be the next thing your marketing team dives into. Tik Tok is in the lead In the hierarchy of most downloaded apps, Tik Tok secured a spot at the top once again with apps such as Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Messenger following behind. While Tik Tok remains at the top of their game, it isn’t stopping them from coming up with new features. Tik Tok has, now, introduced longer length video flexibility to its users and is testing out a landscape mode to provide more options to its creators (and watchers!) The latest on LinkedIn LinkedIn introduced new features for retargeting ads on the platform which helps “retarget anyone who has interacted with a single-image sponsored content ad, as well as those who watch at least 25% of a video ad, those who visit your company page, and several others” (Jenkins, 2023). Another pro tip, based on research done across several major countries, use a mix of personal text and images for your LinkedIn posts. The audience on LinkedIn is increasingly outgrowing long, formal and video-format posts. It’s not necessary to use all the platforms for your business, in fact, I would advise you NOT to do that! Instead, focus your attention on the one or few platforms you can find your clientele on and mix things up. Use the new features to gain more attention on the web and use that attention to share your skills. (and make money lol) With millions of new posts being shared every day, staying updated with the latest trends, tools and features can help your business stand out. People do not want to see the same old formal business-model for your next big sale, instead, get personal! Be transparent! Whether you are a small business owner looking to grow, a well-established company looking to gain more revenue this month or a freelancer looking for independent projects, share your skillset with honesty and reach out to people. Codemasters Agency will take care of your Social Media, Marketing, SEO, Google Ads and Website Design If you are looking to build or redesign your website, get a website audit report (any errors, site health etc.), working towards building your social media presence or boosting your SEO to rank higher and attract leads, Codemasters Agency has a Google-certified and WIX-certified team that can help you take that next big step in business. - Key Factors for Impactful Website Design
Website Design done Right A website is one of the most important tools for business owners today, and there are a number of key factors that can ensure your site makes a lasting impact on all its visitors. Many of our previous blogs have focused on essential elements of web design and development, including search engine optimization (SEO), digital marketing, and keyword research. While all these aspects are important for overall web design, they are perhaps a little further down the line for businesses that have only recently gotten their site up and running. Impactful website design does not always need to rely on complex functionalities, and for those just beginning to establish their online presence, simple is almost always the way to go. Here are some key factors for impactful website design that can be applied by both true beginners and seasoned professionals. All-Around Simplicity Simplicity certainly takes on different forms depending on your business’ industry and level of technology proficiency, but seamless and smooth navigation, mobile capability, clear actionable elements, and accessible information are a few of the little things on websites that really go a long way. Business owners can often get caught up in packing their new sites with as many features as possible, such as call-to-action elements, automated scheduling widgets, and complicated animations. While these features are certainly nice to have later on in the website design process, they are difficult and potentially expensive to maintain if your company does not have anyone tech-savvy on standby to help if something goes wrong. Instead of spending your business’ valuable time and money on unique, never-before-seen functionalities, focus your efforts on perfecting a customer experience that thrives on simplicity and access to what matters most. All-around simplicity on your site might be conveyed through menu items that are easily accessible from any page of your site. Though your menu may not be flashy, your visitors will breathe a sigh of relief when they discover how simple it is to use. The same feelings apply to mobile friendly websites, targeted call-to-action buttons, and navigation that doesn’t require your user to click through page after page before they find the information they are looking for. Colour Palette and Aesthetics If your business follows the route of simplicity for their overall website design and functionality, all that time saved can be spent on perfecting visual design through your site’s colour palette, graphics, and other aesthetic features. Humans are captivated by attractive and pleasing designs, so it is worth the effort to test out different styles on your site and get feedback before you make your final decisions. Whenever a user decides to visit your site, your design only has a few seconds to leave a good first impression, which ultimately has the potential to convert a casual visitor into an interested customer. Like the previous point on simplicity, there is no need to go overboard with the visual design of your website either. Your business should be picking a colour palette that reflects the tone of your brand as much as it actually looks nice with your content. Colours function as key mood-setters on websites, and your choices should be strategically related to your business’ products, services, and values. It can be helpful to read up on colour psychology as you make your choices, and even use colour palette tools to ensure your hues aren’t clashing. Beyond your site’s colours, you should also give thought to contrast, font sizing, the type of fonts you are using, and the number of fonts used for different content. When it comes down to it, three tends to be the magic number when it comes to design: three fonts and three colours will set your website up for aesthetic success. Engaging Writing Written content can often be overlooked during the website building process since businesses tend to focus their energy more on site design and development. While you certainly want your site to look nice and function well, engaging writing also has an impact on your visitors and your search engine rankings. Strong writing boosts your online traffic two-fold: your visitors feel inclined to come back to your website in the future knowing you provide clear information, and you begin to build your business’ authority and trustworthiness on Google and other search engines. However, finding someone to write content for your site can be challenging. Though your business can certainly allocate some responsibility to the marketing department, it is ideal to have a dedicated writer on staff to maintain this aspect of your website. With one person in charge of blog entries, weekly business updates, or client testimonials, the consistency in writing tone and style will further contribute to the cohesiveness already established by your site’s simple and visually pleasing design. Students actually happen to be some of the best people to get on your team for web writing, particularly those studying in the arts and humanities (languages, journalism, communications, creative writing, media studies, etc.). Students, both undergraduate and graduate, are eager to begin publishing their writing in preparation for their future careers, and your business can provide them this opportunity via an internship or part-time position. The Government of Canada even has a number of wage subsidies and other assistance programs to help businesses hire students if a lack of funds might be holding you back from hiring a dedicated writer for website content. Time to Work on Your Website! Simplicity, colour palettes, and engaging writing are only three of many factors that can make your website design more impactful and memorable, but they are among the more manageable and practical elements that your business can start working on right away. For more information on creating impactful website design, we invite you to check out some of our other blog posts, such as our step-by-step guide on how to choose a website design for your business and our list of reasons when it’s time to consider a website redesign. - How to Create a Target Audience to Boost Consumer and Business Sales
In the world of sales and marketing, understanding your target audience is the key to success. Whether you're selling products or services, identifying and reaching the right consumers or businesses is essential for driving sales. In this informative blog, we'll explore the importance of creating a target audience and provide valuable insights on how to do it effectively. So, let's dive in and discover how you can harness the power of a well-defined target audience to boost your consumer and business sales. Why is a Target Audience Crucial for Sales? Before we delve into the process of creating a target audience, let's first understand why it's so crucial for both consumer and business sales: 1. Precision Marketing: By defining your target audience, you can tailor your marketing efforts to address the specific needs, preferences, and pain points of that group. This precision marketing increases the chances of resonating with potential customers, making it more likely that they'll choose your products or services. 2. Resource Efficiency: Focusing your marketing resources on a well-defined audience ensures you're not wasting time, money, and effort on reaching people who are unlikely to be interested in what you offer. This efficiency can lead to a higher return on investment (ROI). 3. Improved Messaging: Knowing your target audience allows you to craft messaging and content that speaks directly to their interests and concerns. This personalized approach can establish a stronger emotional connection with consumers or businesses, making them more likely to engage with your brand. 4. Higher Conversion Rates: When you target the right audience with the right message, you're more likely to see higher conversion rates. Whether you measure conversions in terms of product purchases or business partnerships, a well-defined target audience increases your chances of success. How to Create a Target Audience for Your Sales Efforts Now that we've established the importance of having a target audience, let's explore how you can create one effectively: 1. Market Research The first step in defining your target audience is conducting thorough market research. This involves gathering data and insights about your industry, competitors, and potential customers. Look at demographics, psychographics, and behavioral patterns to get a comprehensive understanding of the market landscape. 2. Segment Your Market Once you have a wealth of information, it's time to segment your market. Divide it into smaller groups based on common characteristics. For consumer sales, these characteristics could include age, gender, location, income level, hobbies, and interests. For business sales, consider factors like industry, company size, location, and specific needs or challenges. 3. Customer Personas With your market segments in place, create customer personas. These are detailed profiles of your ideal customers or business clients within each segment. Give each persona a name and outline their demographics, behaviors, pain points, goals, and preferences. This step humanizes your audience, making it easier to tailor your sales and marketing strategies. 4. Analyze Your Current Customers Your existing customer base can provide valuable insights into your target audience. Analyze their demographics, purchasing behaviors, and reasons for choosing your products or services. Identify patterns and commonalities among your most loyal customers to refine your target audience. 5. Utilize Digital Tools Leverage digital tools and analytics platforms to gather data about your website visitors and social media followers. Tools like Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, and LinkedIn Analytics can provide valuable demographic and behavioral information about your online audience. 6. Feedback and Surveys Don't underestimate the power of direct feedback from customers or clients. Conduct surveys or solicit reviews to gain insights into what they appreciate about your offerings and what could be improved. This information can help you fine-tune your target audience. 7. Competitive Analysis Study your competitors to see who they are targeting and how they are reaching their audience. This can provide valuable insights and help you identify opportunities to differentiate your sales approach. 8. Test and Refine Creating a target audience is not a one-time process. It's an ongoing endeavor that requires testing and refinement. As you implement your sales and marketing strategies, closely monitor their effectiveness. Adjust your target audience parameters and messaging as needed to optimize your results. Consumer vs. Business Target Audiences While the process of creating a target audience is similar for consumer and business sales, there are some nuanced differences to consider: Consumer Target Audience: 1. Emotion-Driven: Consumer sales often rely on emotions and personal preferences. Understanding the emotional triggers of your target audience can be a powerful sales tool. 2. Lifestyle Factors: Consider factors like lifestyle, hobbies, and interests when defining your consumer target audience. These elements can heavily influence purchasing decisions. 3. Brand Loyalty: Building brand loyalty is crucial in consumer sales. Your target audience should be aligned with your brand's values and messaging. Business Target Audience: 1. Needs-Based: Business sales are typically driven by solving specific business needs or challenges. Tailor your messaging to address these needs effectively. 2. Decision-Makers: Identify the key decision-makers within a business, as they are the ones who will ultimately choose your products or services. 3. Longer Sales Cycles: Business sales often involve longer sales cycles and multiple touchpoints. Be prepared for a more extended nurturing process. Conclusion Creating a target audience is a fundamental step in boosting both consumer and business sales. It empowers you to deliver personalized marketing and sales strategies that resonate with your ideal customers or clients. By conducting thorough market research, segmenting your audience, and continuously refining your approach, you can maximize the effectiveness of your sales efforts. Remember that a well-defined target audience is not static; it evolves as your business and market dynamics change, so stay agile and adapt to ensure ongoing success.
